Slowing Up....But Never Giving Up!

Slowing Up....But Never Giving Up!

Gosh, after decades of running and slowing up the past 9 years, I consider every tough step during a long race with gratitude and the finish a victory. In the midst of a half I may say to myself (or even aloud!) “nevermore”. But then that night I’m on “Running in the USA” (and other sites) looking for my next challenge. I’m sure it’s vastly different for an elite runner with all eyes on them, but I imagine the challenge would be hard to resist.

I’ve found that finding new and different race courses, combined with cross-training (Pilates, weight training and Bikram Yoga) revitalizes me. I love meeting the challenge of a new race, especially trail races.

How do you manage running through the years to keep your up enthusiasm?
